Navigates you to success in 10 minutes-a-day sessions! Special opening offer allows full free access to a newly-released "Appken", an online service to assist college entrance exam preparation studies

The Asahi Shimbun Company (Headquarters: Osaka City; President & CEO: Tadakazu Kimura) released "Appken", an online service that assists the students to easily prepare for college entrance exams in as short as 10 minutes a day, such as on the way to school or before bedtime, by using smartphones, tablet devices, and PCs.


It is a joint project with Castalia Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Satoshi Yamawaki) and The Japan Institute for Educational Measurement, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Junichi Takamura) and features "Learning Navi", a navigation system for college entrance exams. When you set a college that you wish to go, the system assists you to efficiently conduct your preparation studies by automatically selecting questions that conform to the trend of the entrance exam of the set college.
In addition, questions such as English pronunciations and math come with explanatory videos so that you could deepen your understanding of the question easily and right on the spot. To commemorate the release of the service, Appken offers free full access for a limited period. After the free-of-charge period, the monthly fee is 980 yen (tax inclusive). A smartphone application will follow shortly.

Building on the concept of "mobile and social learning", Castalia creates a new form of learning experiences. They developed "goocus pro", a mobile learning platform, which is provided to corporations and educational institutes for their services, including Appken.


The Japan Institute for Educational Measurement (http://www.jiem.co.jp/) An educational measurement research/development company of Obunsha group, JIEM provides services such as test analysis, rating, and question creating, to municipalities and education-related entities. They also run
online learning services, namely "Daigaku Juken Manazo" and "EiNavi!" They are the creators of questions and answers on Appken.
