TICAD is a triennial international conference hosted by the Japanese government, themed on the development of African countries.
Since 1993, the Japanese government has taken the initiative of the conference and co-hosted the event with the United Nations,
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), African Union Commission (AUC), and World Bank.  The next conference will
take place in August 2019 in Yokohama.

TICAD Business Dialogue, co-hosted by the Japanese government and JETRO, is a conference for Japanese companies that operate
business in Africa and TICAD co-hosts to develop deeper understandings through discussions, towards the upcoming TICAD 7 and
TICAD Ministerial Meeting.  Presentations were made by the Japanese government, international organizations such as the United
Nations and the African Union, ambassadors from African countries, and Japanese companies that operate business in Africa.

In the presentation, Castalia described the ongoing project regarding programming education as a project under the Framework for
Supporting Japanese Small and Medium Enterprises in Overseas, a Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) initiative.
In addition, Castalia made a proposal of seminar events and constant support for Kenya and other African countries through
invitation of programming educators and people from the engineering community to TICAD 7, in order to promote communication
with relevant people in Japan.
