CASTALIA JOINS FORCES WITH AFRICAN VIRTUAL UNIVERSITY TO BOOST THE USE OF MOBILE LEARNING

LAUNCHING A FEASIBILITY STUDY PROJECT FOR THE REALIZATION OF SMARTPHONE-BASED UNIVERSITY EDUCATION AND THE INTRODUCTION OF TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION


 

Castalia Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Tokyo, Japan) has partnered with African Virtual University (abbreviated as AVU; headquarters: Nairobi,
Kenya) to introduce smartphone-based mobile learning to their systems, as well as to provide new technology skills of the future.

 

Castalia’s CEO Satoshi Yamawaki and AVU’s Rector Bakary Diallo signed a memorandum dated December 7, 2018 at the AVU headquarters
for a joint research project.  Castalia’s mobile learning platform called Goocus will be introduced to AVU, followed by a joint feasibility study
project that will aim at implementing an online course ICT skills course.

 

Through this partnership with AVU, Castalia will support the provision of online education to multiple African countries, especially by
promoting smartphone-based mobile learning.  This will allow AVU to achieve its objective of reaching massive numbers of students
across its network, which will all lead to the partners’ mutual goal of providing solutions to educational issues in Africa.
