TICAD SPINOFF EVENTS: A SERMINAR ON IT-BASED EDUCATION IN AFRICA AND “TICAD CAFÉ CASTALIA”, A FREE RESTING AREA FOR VISITORS
A seminar on IT-based education in Africa featuring specialist from Kenya Ministry of Education and rector of Africa’s largest online university; café offers Kenyan coffee and tea straight from the farm
Castalia will hold the second event of Tech Africa, a seminar series focusing on IT-based education in Africa.
The event will take place from 19:00 on Thursday, August 29, 2019, as a spinoff of TICAD 7.
Entitled “New Revolutions of Technology and Education in Kenya”, the event will feature the specialist at Kenya Ministry of Education
who is in charge of STEM education curriculum planning and teacher-training institutions, as well as the rector of African Virtual University,
the largest online university in the continent, both of whom will make speeches on Kenya’s approach on ICT and code education, and how
the online university covering 33 countries in Africa has worked alongside technology. The event will be held in English with
consecutive interpretation for speeches.
Admission for this event is free of charge.
TICAD Café Castalia
During TICAD 7, Castalia will also hold a free resting space for TICAD participants, where we offer coffee and tea from Kenya and
Wi-Fi access.
